Marriott International’s Autograph Collection has recently launched the Eugenia de Montijo in the center of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Toledo in Spain.

This 42-room hotel had started operating in the former palace of the Empress Eugenia de Montijo. Spanish architects named Saintz de Vicuna and Manuel Bernard along with architectural firm Interior Design Leitmotiv had crafted the new Autograph Collection hotel.

The property close to the Cathedral and Jewish Quarter is near to El Greco’s masterpiece at the Church of Santo Tome, the Cristo de la Luz Mosque and the Alcázar Fortress.

John License who is the Vice President of premium and select brands Europe at Marriott International said that the rich heritage of the hotel, intimate size and modern design imparts a refreshing appearance that is quite unique.

This hotel represents the latest addition to the brand of Autograph Collection.

And it would be joining Spain’s list of seven Autograph Collection properties in Madrid, Baqueira, Santiago de Compostela, Granada and Barcelona.

Marriott had come up with the 71-room Hotel Circulo Gran Via under the Autograph Collection brand in June 2017. This is the brand’s third property in Madrid, following the Hotel Palacio del Retiro and the Hotel Santo Mauro.

Marriott has a total of 77 hotels operating in Spain under its AC Hotels, Autograph Collection, Edition, Renaissance, Ritz-Carlton, Marriott and Courtyard brands.

Two of these, the Eugenia del Montijo, Autograph Collection and the AC Hotel Ciudad del Toldeo, both operate in the city of Toledo.
