The arrival of Air France is one of the causes for this. It’s the first direct flight from France to Costa Rica. Several new airlines have recently come up and others have extended their routes, permitting more international tourists to reach the country.

Costa Rica witnessed a major growth of 7% in its income in terms of foreign tourism this high season, the initial three months of the year, in comparison to the same time in 2017. $1,181 million were welcomed, pointing to a continuing upward trend.

The first quarter proved to be the best in terms of tourism. The revenues generated at the time of this quarter have been increasing over the last nine years. Tourists attract a lot of financial profits to the country as they spend on hotels, restaurants, transportation, tours, recreational and cultural activities, as well as business.

Professionals hope that the trend to carry on positively. Few factors that might change this would be changes in the economy of North America or Europe or natural disasters.

Another sector witnessing positive change is telecommunications, information and information services, up 18.3%.
