Routes America 2021 will take place in Bogota, Colombia. The event will connect the region’s leading airlines, airports and tourism authorities. This will further enable to build strong relationships with some of the most influential aviation professionals from across the region.
The agreement regarding the event was signed between Routes and OPAIN- El Dorado Airport Concessionaire (BOG) of Bogota El Dorado International Airport during the 25th World Routes in Adelaide.
“We are happy that Routes America is returning to Colombia in 2021, El Dorado International Airport and the city of Bogota,” said Steven Small, Brand Director of Routes.
He added: “The delegates can explore opportunities that exist in all regions of the country, including their gastronomy, culture, people and other characteristics because of which Bogota is a multicultural city. The event was earlier held in Cartagena in 2013 and this is perfect to hold this event in Colombia.”
Colombia is inundated with innumerable natural and cultural riches. The country’s tourism sector saw its best growth in 2018, a growth of 8 per cent. The air sector of Colombia has also witnessed a great growth and this has also led Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority to design the Aeronautics Strategic Plan 2030, which is aimed at mobilizing 100 million passengers and double cargo transportation in a safe and sustainable environment, with a renewed infrastructure.
“We are thrilled to host Routes America 2021 and are looking forward to hosting the best events of the industry. We want the participation of airline authorities from across the Americas in this event. We are confident that we can showcase our city and airport together on behalf of all Colombians. The porogramme is also going to raise awareness among the airline industry of the opportunities that Latin America presents,” said Alvaro Gonzalez Ringler, chief operating officer of El Dorado OPAIN.
