U.S. Travel Association Vice President for Government Relations Erik Hansen issued the following statement on the new Open Skies deal between the United States and the United Kingdom for post-Brexit flights:
“The U.S.-U.K. agreement removes a cloud of uncertainty and avoids a potentially devastating interruption of air travel between the U.S. and its largest inbound overseas market—the U.K. The agreement also protects free market competition in the transatlantic, where we’ve seen a lot of consolidation. So this is good news for consumers as well.”
