United Airlines will refurbish its four weekly flights between Guam and Nagoya from December 2, 2018 through the end of March, 2019.
United Ailrines will also operate eight extra flights, adding more than 2,000 seats, between Guam and Osaka during November and December 2018.
United Airlines currently operates one daily flight each between Guam and Nagoya and Guam and Osaka.
In January, United Airlines cut some services to Guam citing low travel demand. The airline ended its Guam flights from Shanghai, China, and Sendai, Japan, and cut flights between Guam and other Japanese destinations. For some routes, United shifted to using smaller planes with fewer seats.
With the added flights, there will be 11 weekly Guam-Nagoya flights with the Boeing 737 aircraft, the administrative authority of United Airline said.
The additional four Nagoya flights add more than 1,000 seats per week and over 16,000 seats between Guam and Japan during the winter travel season.
