Westin Hotels & Resorts Expands in Latin America with the Signing of the Westin Monterrey in Mexico

Westin-Hotels-ResortsStarwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, today announced that industry-innovator Westin Hotels & Resorts will expand its presence in Latin America with the development of the brand new Westin Monterrey set to open in 2019. The signing is part of Starwood’s aggressive growth strategy in Latin America and Mexico and marks the debut of the Westin brand in Mexico’s second largest city.

 

 

Developed by Desarrollos Missouri and managed by Starwood, The Westin Monterrey will join the brand’s portfolio located in key markets, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta.

The Westin Monterrey is set to modernize the city’s hotel offering through Westin’s distinctive architectural and interior design as well as its unique wellness program. The hotel will be part of Punto Valle, the city’s most exclusive neighborhood, which will also include high-end office space and upscale shops and restaurants that cater to international and national business travelers as well as the city’s affluent residents.

With 180 exquisitely designed guestrooms and suites, The Westin Monterrey will feature the brand’s signature amenities and services, including the world-renowned Heavenly® Bed and invigorating Heavenly® Bath experience. The hotel will also bring to life all of the brand’s unique wellness program throughout its guestrooms and public spaces. Guests will enjoy the hotel’s extensive leisure facilities, including the WestinWORKOUT® fitness studio, a rooftop swimming pool and the Heavenly® Spa, which offers the brand’s specialty wellness and beauty treatments. Two inspiring restaurants in the hotel will provide a variety of healthy culinary options alongside the brand’s nutrient-rich and delicious SuperFoodsRx™ menus.

 

Currently, there are 14 Westin-branded hotels in operation in Latin America with two more hotels underway, including The Westin Monterrey and The Westin Cozumel, which will open mid-2016. In Mexico, Starwood currently operates 30 hotels across eight distinct brands and 12 more are in development.
