WestJet reports June load factor of 83.6 per cent

WestJet announced June 2018 traffic results with a load factor of 83.6 per cent, an increase of 0.7 percentage points year over year. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 8.5 per cent year over year, while capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 7.5 per cent over the same period. WestJet welcomed an additional 120,000 guests in June, a year-over-year increase of 6.0 per cent.

WestJet also inaugurated new regional airline service, WestJet Link, with service from Cranbrook, Prince George, Lethbridge, Lloydminster and Medicine Hat to WestJet’s growing hub at the Calgary International Airport. All WestJet Link flights are operated by Pacific Coastal Airlines using its fleet of 34-seat Saab 340B aircraft. Each aircraft includes six seats available in WestJet Plus, offering guests advanced boarding, no-charge for two checked bags and seating at the front of the aircraft.
